Young Explorers Club
The Young Explorers Club Global STEAM Explorers After-School Program is a growing initiative that takes a holistic approach to education, offering a dynamic range of enrichment opportunities through our Creative Arts Studio, STEM Discovery Lab, and Special Project Adventures. Together, these experiences connect classrooms across cultures through global STEM research, collaborative projects, cultural exchange, and community service.
Through hands-on, project-based learning and meaningful global collaboration, students gain experiences that extend far beyond traditional classroom academics. They explore real-world challenges across cultures, learn by doing, collaborate and grow alongside peers around the world, and turn their ideas into meaningful action.
Along the way, students build confidence, creativity, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, develop a broader global perspective, and discover how they can make a positive impact in both their local and global communities – all while finding joy, purpose, and connection in learning.
Sample Classes & Teaching Strategies
Creative Arts Studio
Partnering with local teaching artists, we offer a diverse range of creative courses, including visual arts, creative writing, theater, music, and movement. Students explore art history, inspiring artists, and artistic traditions from cultures around the world, developing a deeper appreciation for creative expression across time and place.
Our teaching approach centers on the creative process, encouraging students to explore new ideas, experiment with different materials and techniques, and develop their own unique forms of expression.
Through hands-on creative experiences, students learn to express themselves with confidence, take creative risks, and embrace their unique voices while strengthening creativity, innovative thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts as a powerful way to express, connect, explore, and learn.
STEM Discovery Lab
Our STEM Discovery Lab introduces students to engaging topics including science experiments, math challenges, computer science, robotics, engineering, digital media, and age-appropriate AI concepts and applications. We continuously develop new courses to keep pace with our rapidly changing world.
We believe children learn best by doing, exploring, and discovering. Through hands-on investigation, experimentation, and collaboration, students identify real-world problems, ask meaningful questions, and work together to design creative solutions. They test ideas, learn from setbacks, and refine their designs through an iterative learning process.
Through fun, project-based experiences, students strengthen creative problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovative thinking while discovering the joy of turning their ideas into reality.
Special Project Adventures - Connecting Classrooms to Real-World Challenges & Across Cultures
Special Project Adventures connect young learners in the United States with peers across Asia, creating opportunities to learn together, explore real-world challenges, and build connections across cultures.
Each year, students explore a selected country’s culture, communities, and real-world challenges while collaborating on Global STEM Research and Community Service Projects. They investigate meaningful topics, exchange ideas and perspectives, and work together to turn learning into action and make a meaningful difference.
Through these project-based global experiences, students share cultures, discover new perspectives, build friendships across borders, and broaden their global awareness while developing curiosity, compassion, and ideas for future research and cross-cultural collaboration.
