Art Instructor for Before and After school Program

Program Overview: Young Explorers Club, in partnership with Issaquah Parks & Community Services, is offering a before- and after-school program at the Issaquah Community Center. Our program provides engaging art classes, including workshops in drama, visual arts, music, and dance. We are currently seeking dance and music instructors to lead these sessions.

Schedule: Mondays 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm

Location: Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd S, Issaquah, WA 98027

Compensation: $60-$80/class (45-60 minutes)

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Develop engaging lesson plans and curriculum. 
  • For music workshops, teach various aspects of music to students, including music theory, vocal training, and instrument instruction. 
  • For dance workshops, introduce students to various dance styles in a fun, creative, and inclusive learning environment.  
  • Plan and supervise an end-of-year performance or exhibit to showcase students’ progress, creativity, and accomplishments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience teaching art to children in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Passion for nurturing and teaching young children.

Community After School Program Teaching Assistant

Program Overview: Our elementary after-school program offers fun, project-based classes that help students build a strong academic foundation, discover a passion for STEAM exploration, and develop essential problem-solving and social skills. We’re seeking warm, dependable, and creative Teaching Assistants to support our teachers in the classroom.

Schedule: September 2024 – June 2025, flexible hours within program schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm and Wednesday: 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Location: Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd S, Issaquah, WA 98027

Compensation: $18/hour

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Supervise children to ensure their health and safety.
  • Assist in delivering lessons and activities in a nurturing, active learning environment.
  • Help maintain an interactive, well-organized classroom that encourages exploration and creativity.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Experience working with children preferred.

Online Registration: Registration is available online for families wishing to sign their Explorers up themselves or you can email us at admin@youngedu.org and we will be happy to assist you in getting your Explorers into a program. We also host info sessions on Saturday afternoons for parents to learn more about our programs before registering any classes.
  2. Age/Grade Restrictions:
    • Preschool program: Ages 2.5-5 at the program start time
    • Elementary program: Grades K-5 at the program start time
  3. Registration Options: Our preschool, after school and weekend enrichment programs run from September to June (Fall semester and Spring semester). Families can register classes for one semester, one month or a drop-in class.
  4. Refunds: We do not charge an application fee. If you need to reschedule or cancel classes, please email us at admin@youngedu.org and we will help you sign up for another class or issue a full refund back to your credit card or PayPal account.
  5. Late Registrations and Discounts: The online registration system automatically prorates the price for late registrations. If you register a class with friends, please email us at admin@youngedu.org and we will be happy to assist you in applying group discounts.
